Adventures in Juicing

I've been juicing since I got my fabulous new juicer on Christmas Eve! It's something I've always wanted to do, literally for years. I don't know why it took me so long to get one.

The first thing I did was jump onto Pinterest and pin every juice recipe in existence. I made sure to follow every recipe exactly. If it called for a half inch of ginger, I got my ruler out.

To make a long story short, many Food Network mornings and a fortnight later, I am now coming up with my own recipes and eyeballing the portions myself. I like to call this, Everything But The Kitchen Sink & No Expensive Fruits And Vegetables, Juice. I made a large mason jar worth of juice, which made for a tasty and filling breakfast. If you follow recipes and are curious how to make this orange colored goodness:

Everything But The Kitchen Sink & No Expensive Fruits And Vegetables, Juice
4 Whole Carrots
1 Granny Smith Apple
1 Orange
1 Cucumber

1/2 Lemon (You could do a whole one. I just had a half left in the fridge.)
1/2 Lime, peeled unless you love bitter things
1/2 Pineapple
1 Banana

It come out very orange - reminiscent of a Halloween store clearance section.

Enjoy! What are your favorite juicing recipes??

Back at it! (Happy Birthday Elvis!)

Today starts a new year of blogging!
I've missed Blogger, and am back at it. What a day to start too, being Elvis' 79th birthday and all. Elvis died 11 years before I was born. I always wondered what it would have been like if he wouldn't have died young and would be around today for me to enjoy. I visited Graceland in 2013, and it was an emotional experience. Beautiful. Energetic. Perfect.

For the new year, I am going to share my stories of finding a new career, my juicing recipes that I discover in my kitchen, my art that I will continue to make, and maybe some rants about my Old Hollywood obsessions.

Long live the King of Rock n Roll.

New Year, Start Fresh!

I am not one for new years resolutions. My take on life as always been "Yesterday doesn't matter, and tomorrow will take care of itself",  however I'm thinking that perhaps I'm the wrong one. A new year is a great way to turn over a new leaf in your life. I know I'm already 16 days into the new year, but out of the over 300 days I have left, there is plenty of time to change! It is getting closer and closer to me finally graduating! Slow and steady, but I will totally win the race. This year will help me get set up for finishing school next year. I am so excited for the rest of my life.

Here are my resolutions, starting 16 days late (never too late, though):
  1. Drink more water, with fresh lemon!
  2. Get some wardrobe staples such as a button down shirt, fitted white tee, a nice blazer...
  3. Put myself before others, but no not in a horribly selfish way. I mean think about my life, getting myself organized, getting healthy, making my art for me and no one else, making myself happy, etc...
  4. Draw every day. Even if it is a tiny Picasso-esque sketch of a stick figure, draw draw draw either before I go to bed or in the morning when I wake up. Drawing stimulates the artistic mind and helps you stay creative.
  5. Read the Bible more. I love Jesus, and I want to finish reading the entire Bible and get my own grasp on it. Knowledge is definitely power.
  6. Spend less, Save more.
  7. Budget time and money to travel to places I've never been.
  8. Explore art mediums that I have always wanted to discover.
  9. Go unsweetened on tea. Let's see how this one plays out since I'm a sucker for Splenda in my green tea.
  10. Don't worry. Ever.
  11. Work hard. Work work work hard hard hard. Life is how you make it. Do your hardest and you'll receive what you deserve.
  12. Last but not least, somehow learn how to do my makeup like Emma Stone. ;)

Also, no matter how late it is into the new year, it is never too late to start a new resolution. I should title this "Life Resolutions". Every day is a new day to start your life fresh and happy.
Love your life and everyone in it.
